Himara wastewater treatment plant automation and electrical works
Control panels, automation software, SCADA, electrical installation, networking, and pumping station control delivered for the Himara WWTP.
Project scope
For the Himara wastewater treatment plant, our scope covered control panels, automation software, SCADA pages, building electrical installation, plant networking, and camera setup.
Inside the plant
- Biological treatment with 3 blower drives, 2 aeration tanks, one blower panel, and 2 separate mixer panels for the aeration tanks.
- RAS and WAS pumping station with 3 RAS pumps, 2 WAS automatic valves, and PID control to maintain target flow.
- Septage storage tank with 1 mixer, 2 unloading pumps for truck discharge, panel, and SCADA page.
- Supernatant pumping station.
- Sludge thickening and storage tank.
- Dewatering and polymer pumping.
- Floating sludge pumping station.
- Service water pumping station with 2 VFD pumps for pressure maintenance.
Control philosophy
- All stations operate in automatic mode.
- Pumps alternate where suitable for equal aging.
- Flow, level, and pressure control are handled in software where required by the process.
Site electrical works
- Electrical installation for all plant buildings.
- Industrial networking across the site.
- Camera system setup.
Outside the plant
- Main pumping station with 4 VFD pumps, level-based control, and automatic alternation.
- Several smaller pumping stations around Himara, each with 2 fixed-speed pumps.
